Thank you all for being here. I know there have been hotel cancelations in the wake of September’s two deadly earthquakes. We felt the quakes in Puerto, but suffered no damage. Still, we were, and are, affected; we are humbled, our world is not the same.
I have lived in Puerto for 12 years and published the magazine for seven. The hardest part is finding new topics. But there is always something that piques my interest, like motocross or Airbnb or a cemetery called Sueño Profundo (Deep Sleep).
Warren Sharpe, the publisher of Puerto’s first bilingual magazine, El Sol de la Costa, from 1987 to 2010, passed away in September at the age of 70. There will be a memorial service at sunset on November 24, Warren’s birthday, at Arcis, opposite the hotel Santa Fe.
