If it’s not fun, why bother. That’s the basic premise of this issue. We call it work (ha, ha) and take boat rides in three lagoons and eat very well. Best yet, Gretell de Gala helps with the reporting – I don’t do yoga, but she does. (See Yoga in Puerto), which frees me up for other stuff like tsunamis and how to cross the border on a surf board.
If you want to know the state of the highway to Oaxaca, check out the last issue here. Oaxaca’s new governor, Alejandro Murat Hinojosa, promises that construction will be finished this year. As soon as work starts again, we will be out there in a jeep driven by Ernesto J. Torres (who is also our photographer, translator and man about town) documenting its progress.
